Festival sponsors awards for middle and high school students who participate in national competition
WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Thursday, March 19th, the March on Washington Film Festival and National History Day announce their strategic partnership in educating students about African-American history and culture. This unique collaboration will include a competition and prize sponsored by the March on Washington Film Festival, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the events of the Civil Rights Era, and all of its heroes and heroines. The Festival’s goal is to inspire a renewed passion for activism by changing the way this era is taught in our nation’s schools. Both organizations share a mission to increase awareness of historic events to inspire a passion for education in young people.
